Ilya "Chuzhoi" Alexeyevich Vasiliev

Player Name

Ilya "Chuzhoi" Alexeyevich Vasiliev

A stout bogatyr far from home.

Bogatyr: Ilya is a man who has lived his life by the understanding that he has the power and responsibility to help those who need help, and protect those needing protecting. His resolve in accomplishing this is as steel. He can spend one ap to take an attack meant for a nearby ally (viable targets are gm's discretion), with a +3 to the corresponding defensive roll. If he succeeds in the block, he can turn his resolve into force, and can spend another AP to get a +3 bonus to his next offensive roll against the offending damage source.

Eats like three men, works like seven: While not quite as voracious or powerful as figures from slavic mythology, he is a large man and tends to eat more than others, while being able to work a bit harder and take more punishment physically.
Inertial: In many things he does mentally, Ilya has quite a bit of inertia. He is often mistaken for a dullard, though he is not. He merely takes some time to get up to speed. His preferred method of solving problems is to take some time and mull them over. Once he gets up to speed, it can be surprising how far he can think a problem through.
Chuzhoi: A bit of a wanderer by nature, he is a very free person. He does not try overly hard to fit in, and reacts poorly to commands from anyone he does not perceive as a good person.

Personal History

Born to a poor family somewhere in the Ukraine, or possibly Russia, Ilya's birth ended the life of his mother. His father, a strongman with a circus making tours of various Russian and Ukranian cities, brought him up along with his grandfather, at whose farm Ilya spent most of the latter part of his childhood. Years of hard physical labor on the farm, helping around his village, and training with his father grew Ilya into a very physically fit young lad. Interestingly, he managed to avoid taking up the bitterness of his grandfather, and grew to have a very strict set of personal morals and cheerful disposition which was mistaken by some for naivety. Several years down the line, the Event happened. His grandfather had died in the interceding period, and with his father still on tour Ilya helped his village survive. Eventually, having decided he had done everything he could for his village, Ilya packed up a few worldly possessions, and set off to wander the land, looking for more people to help, more good to do, more evil to end…

A large man in almost every meaning of the word, Ilya tends to tower over people. He seems larger even than those equal to him in height on account of a general broadness and sturdiness to his build. He has quite a bit of meat on him, and a layer of fat he insists is healthy. This makes some people underestimate him, until they realize how much muscle lurks under the fat. His face is mostly hidden behind a long, wild beard, though a wide grin can usually be seen shining through. He speaks in somewhat flawed english, and occasionally takes out a well-worn looking russian-to-english dictionary to look up words. A very simple, plain cross hangs on a chain under his shirt. His clothes tend to be raggedy and plain, though this varies.
