Jacob Kensington

Player Name

Jacob "Kens" Kensington

Robotics/Biomedical Engineer who specializes in cybernetic parts or "upgrades."

Right Arm of Superman: After suffering the loss of his right arm during an accident in a research lab at Site-23, Kens replaced his right arm with an experimental prosthetic prototype he had been developing as a side project. For the cost of an Action Point, he may use the prosthetic's fine motor control to take a +3 bonus to a Medical roll, and a +2 to Engineering (Mechanics) and Engineering (Electrical) rolls.

  • He blued it up! - Kens was able to blue the metal components of his arm, allowing a resistance to mild acids/bases.
  • Aspects of his arm: Waterproof/sealed. Acid/base resistant.

Expensive Equipment: If the artificial arm is damaged, it takes a lot of scavenging for scrap parts and workable metals to repair. Kens will usually be able to find these parts from scrap electronics or machinery. A Perception roll will indicate what sort of materials he finds and an Engineering (Electrical) and/or Engineering (Mechanical) roll will dictate how much he gains, and of what type. If a (Mechanical) roll is higher than an (Electrical) roll, he'd find mechanical components, and vice-versa.
Healing for Everyone: As well as being an engineer, Kens has significant medical training, allowing him to potentially do surgery in a controlled environment. He won't care if it's a paper cut or an amputation: If he sees blood, he's going to make you "better."
That's Not How it Works, Dumbass: Kens has the skill and know-how to make most technology work. He's not afraid of calling someone out for using technology wrong. (Unless that someone has a very big gun.)

Scene aspect: Adjutant's Operation - +3 to med roll when tagged during the operation on the Adjutants.

Personal History

Jacob Kensington, who came from a town in central New Jersey, grew up working with biological lab work, medical training, and engineering influences. After leading a small robotics team against other teams in an international competition and sequencing dozens of new DNA sequences for a local university, he was accepted at Johns Hopkins for their Biomedical Engineering program and Medical Program. He graduated with a PhD in BME and an MD - he went back and got a PhD in robotics, and eventually got a job working with a start-up electronics company known as Psionics International. After a few run-ins with various SCPs, he was contracted by the Foundation, where he originally worked in the research laboratories at Site-23, specializing in the biological and mechanical development of various SCPs contained on-site or transferred from other sites.

Following a severe lab accident, Kensington lost his right arm, but was able to use one of the prosthetic arms he'd been developing during his time in the research labs. Since then, he's become increasingly obsessed with producing successful biological and mechanical creations that can replace organic parts. While he rationalizes his obsession by proclaiming it's "for the greater good," others have been known to comment that the good doctor has become a Frankenstein in his search for immortality.
