January Sohcahtoa

Schizophrenic Maths Prodigy

Mathematical: Jani's understanding of maths and how it applies to the world is bordering on ridiculous. Along with her number based hallucinations, she can see, arrange and solve complex problems in her mind, and use it to her advantage. For an Action Point she can apply a +3 bonus to Ranged Weapons or Agility. For the same cost, she can set up a manoeuvres for the team for a turn, for the aforementioned skills.

The Number 4 is Bad: January's hallucinations are, for the most part, completely harmless, and even helpful now that she's evened out, and is medicated. However, sometimes the hurtful, angry numbers come to her and can make her behave erratically.
"I'm wet!": Another facet of her illness is occasional monomania. Jani will sometimes get stuck on the minutia, forgoing the bigger picture. This can help out spot fine points sometimes.
Not All Here: Being institutionalized or homeless for a lot o her adult life has made Ms. Sohcahtoa very good at not being seen. She blends into the background noise easily. Maybe too easily, and some times ends up getting overlooked.

Personal History

January spent most of her adult life before the event in and out of mental hospitals, on and off of various medications, and with or without any kind of food or shelter. Her hallucinations of talking numbers started plaguing the promising young maths prodigy a few years after getting her PhD in pure mathimatics. It wasn't long before she was institutionalized, and lost track of her schooling all together.
When the Event happened, she was homeless, barely holding onto reality. With the outreach program she got her meagre medications and food closed, she was lost completely to another world. When everything evened out, she didn't remember how much time had passed or what had happened to her for the last few years. Eventually she was able to join a group that could see to her needs, and used newer therapeutic techniques to deal with her numbers. Taking a name from a young girl with childhood onset schizophrenia, and her love of maths, Jani became a contributing member of her community.

January is of average height, and a tad underweight. Her curly, strawberry blonde hair is wild and often unkempt. It's kept around shoulder length, though she just kinda hacks at it with scissors when it's getting too long for her liking. She has light freckles, teal eyes, and a bit of a gap in her front teeth. She looks to be in her late 20s, early 30s.
Her body has nicks and scars here and there, but she honestly couldn't tell you what any of them are from. Jani has an apparently self done tattoo/brand of the numbers of pi to the 100th decimal place on the inside of her left calf.
