Jay Michaels

Player Name

Jay Michaels

Middle Eastern Studies professor

Son of Istanbul: Jay has procured a scepter1 that, according to legend, gives the user the full authority and blessings of the Sultans. When carrying the scepter, he can spend an action point to give each ally +2 to their next defensive roll. By spending three action points, he can get a +6 bonus to a single Persuasion roll made to command or inspire.

All bonuses granted by the scepter are doubled while in the city of Istanbul.

Do we have to?: Jay is a strict pacifist — he won't go on the offensive, and even the use of violence in self-defense is morally difficult for him. He's creative when coming up with ways to avoid fights or combat.
Daily double: Jay knows a bunch of random stuff that might come in handy, but he can have trouble sorting through all the trivia to get to the important things.
The great indoors: Jay is a city boy who does not like nature. He's jumpier than normal outdoors, but when he's indoors, he has his shit together.

Personal History

Born in Birmingham, UK in 1960. Lived a pretty normal life, worked on cars to help pay his way through college, where he got a degree in Middle Eastern Studies and eventually became a professor at some British university.

Was giving a guest lecture at a university in Cityname when the apocalypse happened. Wandered around the ruins of Civilization for a few weeks before he heard an artifact calling out to him from the ruins of a Foundation facility. He went in and took it, decided it was real fucking neato, and kept it.

He was sticking it out with a band of survivors, but decided the people with the tank were probably safer to be around.
