Kyle Mercer

Player Name

Kyle Mercer

Survivalist, Conspiracy Nut

Old Time Spook- Kyle is a dyed-in-the-koolaid survivalist with a background he
refuses to talk about. Regardless of how he acquired the skills he has, it's left him excellent at improvisation and a very capable marksman. For 1 AP Kyle can gain a +3 to ranged or survival, or for 3 AP he can use Survival in a situation where it's topical, but not normally applicable(emergency piloting, ditch medicine, etc), where he could not substitute survival.

I warned them! - And they didn't listen. He claims to have been preparing "ever
since…well..yeah", and it paid off. He survived due to what he'd squirreled
away, and the wide range of skillsets he'd developed. Marksmanship, engineering
and a range of miscellany that he was frequently made a mockery of before the
event are just some of what came to fruition for him,

Black Helicopters - Kyle was convinced various agencies and powers were out to
get him before the event, and it hasn't changed after it. He's functionally
paranoid, knowing how to work with people without trusting them, and tends to
spot trouble as it's arising, giving him a chance to get a jump on it or, moe
likely, run.

Out of give A Damn - While Kyle is corteous and fairly slow to anger, when
pushed he is an unflinching individual who can deal with whatever's thrown his
way without acknowledging risk or fear.

Personal History

Kyle is tight lipped about what he used to do, and for all intents
and purposes his only "known" history picks up at some indeterminate point
where his profession changed and he picked up a life of relative quiet as a
small town mechanic and town crazy. His silence about his background lead many to speculate he either was involved with something highly secret, or that he wanted people to believe he was. Were they alive, everyone in town would've
been able to attest that he "was always talking about the Russians or secret
mind control projects or aliens" and "had way too many guns". Still, he was
well liked, and generally considered a nice guy and a good friend to have, if definitely very "eccentric".

Kyle weathered the Event in a small but comfortable bunker he'd dug out from the wall of his
basement, and emerged into the world triumphant. He Was Right, after all. He
stayed put for as long as he could, but dwindling supplies and a lack of
prospects in his devistated hometown led him to take up his pack and start

5'8, fairly average build, with skin deeply tanned from the sun. Has short,
brown hair and a neatly trimmed, if long, beard. Indeterminate age. Distrustful of
authority, but willing to cooperate for the sake of politeness.
