Scion Fortis Infernus

Player Name

Scion/Fortis Infernus

Possessed Librarian

Release: Scion releases the demon he has kept within him. This costs 3 AP and 1 Body point. He gains +2 melee, +2 athletics, +2 physical defense and +2 mental defense for all rolls until 3 of his combat turns have elapsed. Multiple uses of this ability per day require a roll against his Mental Defense. A failure results in losing control to the demon, forcing him into a rage state while it is released. He will attack the nearest being, whether friend or foe. This last for 2 of his combat rounds, at the end of which he is incapacitated for the rest of combat.

Well Read: During Scion's travel, he has read many books, and encountered many different cultures. He is fluent in multiple languages, and well aware of many cultural traditions. This is mostly centered around their tales of demons and monsters however.
Well Mannered: He has learned to control his emotions, as they can trigger his demonic side, and is very gentlemanly, chivalrous, and altruistic. However, any actions taken by a man against a woman causes him much anger, and he will do anything in his power to interfere.
Fluid: His many travels have taught him many different methods of combat. All his experience has left him with a supreme sense of balance, and incredible body awareness. However, anything that may cause him to lose his footing, or throws off his innate sense of balance, is completely devastating to him.

Personal History

Scion was born with strange markings on his chest resembling large claw mark tattoos, going from his shoulders to his diaphragm. These were the mark of a demon that had possessed him while in the womb. Throughout his life, the demon has spoken to him in hushed tones in a demonic tongues that only he understood, suggesting to him to kill all those around him, as an offering to those of a higher power. As a shy, introverted boy, with a preference to literature rather than physical activities, he refused, never lifting a finger. As time went on, the suggestions became more powerful, and seemed to compel him into murderous rage. He struggled to learn to control his curse, as he became more and more of a danger to those he loved. With the help of knowledge gleaned from old books on demons and curses, he had learned to control the power within him. In doing so, the demon made an offer. In exchange for power, Scion would have complete control, and unlimited knowledge. He agreed, in hopes of appeasing the demon's unrelenting struggle for control. However, being a demon, it had no intentions on keeping it's side of the bargain, and the power bestowed acted as a gateway, allowing the demon to take control at times of duress. Inevitably, the demon seized control, and slaughtered Scion's family. Since then, Scion has searched the globe in search of a method of forever sealing the demon.

While the demon is in a constant struggle to take over Scion, it also bestows knowledge and power into him. Knowledge in the form of many human languages, the majority being ancient in origin, and power in the form of physical fitness. Scion is at a level of physical ability that rivals many, much more physically active people, despite focusing mostly on the pursuit of knowledge.
