Power

Phantasmal Phenomena: Where Sir Garland goes, ghostly occurrences follow, from the innocuous to the demonic. It's unaware of its role in these, or even its eidolic nature, though it is perfectly capable of causing them both consciously and subconsciously.

Anyone involved in a scene which also involves Sir Garland may spend an Action Point to make a Scene Declaration relating to his spectral nature which would not otherwise be possible; things which would feel organic to a ghost story, or the works of Poe or Lovecraft. As with all Scene Declarations, the GM must grant approval. Should the GM decide an Opposed Roll is fitting, Garland's Magic skill is used.

Some examples of possible Declarations: lights flicker and die; electronics and mechanical devices malfunction; engines die; weapons fail to fire; fires are snuffed out; echoing footfalls are heard nearby/in the distance; scratching is heard within the walls; indistinct whispers are heard…

Greater effects are possible with greater expenditure of Action Points, subject to GM discretion.

Aspects

Non Sum Qualis Eram: Sir Garland knows, on some level, that he's changed. A persistent, nagging feeling in the back of his mind. Why can no one bear to look him in the eyes any more? Why should the knight's presence fill people, good god-fearing people no less, with such dread? Does no one remember his face, or the crest upon his shield? Why does taking up his sword give him such chills and leave him feeling empty inside? He isn't sure, but knows things aren't as they should be.
Existential Dissonance: Once a devout and chivalrous Christian knight, Garland is now abhorred by most things 'holy'. He has all but forgotten his faith; it's hard to be a practicing Christian when recitation of passages burns, hallowed grounds are impassable, and iconography instills feelings of uneasiness1. Nevertheless, his values remain by and large unchanged.
The Years Are As Days: Sir Garland's sense of time is skewed, so much so that he no longer recognizes the passing of days, and only barely the changing of seasons. Last year was just now, four centuries ago was yesterday, and now, eternal.

  • Three bronze capsae embossed with elaborate designs similar to those borne on Sir Garland's armor, carried at all times.

Good question.
