William Fenwick

Player Name

Heiden

Name

Fr. William Fenwick, Ordinis Praedicatorum

Concept

The Black Friar

Power

In the Beginning: In his studies, William has discovered a few words of the language of creation. To speak a sentence, he must inform the GM of his intent and make a Force of Will roll. The GM must then determine, based off of the result of the roll and the words chosen, what the result of the sentence was. After determining the effect, the GM may assess a cost to William of 0-5 points. These points are deducted from his Action Point total, with any overflow being subtracted from his Body, as his mortal form is ill-prepared to channel the divine forces of creation. As he is tapping into the very forces that created the universe, magical means of interference or assistance simply do not take - he is operating on a far, far deeper level than mere magic.

Aspects

Fiat Homo: William sees himself as responsible for all of humanity. Violence against his fellow man is repulsive to him, and he will only engage in it to preserve the lives of others.
Fiat Lux: William is blind beyond mending, even with the assistance of magic. He intuitively is able to perceive the area around him through manipulation of his Power, ( "Always know self area." ) but this only extends for a short distance around him.
Fiat Voluntas Tua: Father Fenwick takes the vows of his station as a Dominican friar very seriously, and the idea of indulging in anything that would violate those oaths would repulse him.

Personal History

Fr. Fenwick's life until very recently was a dreadfully dull one as a Dominican friar. As a theological scholar, most of his days were spent refining the finer points of particularly uninteresting arguments referring to more obtuse dogmatic principles- that is, until he discovered the Library. The wealth of research material available to a scholar in the Library consumed him and his duties… not that anyone noticed the frequent absences of William overmuch. He discovered hidden things in the Library, one of the many collections of secrets the Library held that Man Was Not Meant To Know, and he sought to understand them. The notes he took were simple, brief even, and eventually he thought to put his knowledge to the test. In one of the study rooms of the Library, he uttered one simple phrase.

"Be light."

He remembers very little after that, only the coppery tang of blood filling his mouth and being suddenly plunged into utter darkness… he regained consciousness only to find he was being unceremoniously escorted out of the building. The Page that recovered him from the room refused to answer any of his questions, only that "All must leave the Library, all must leave," and he was hurled unceremoniously out of a Door at random.

Miscellaneous

Fr. Fenwick is a lean, almost gaunt man of average height. The friar's hands are the calloused hands of a workingman, but his milky white eyes - accompanied by significant scarring around them - seem to suggest otherwise. Despite his obvious blindness, he moves adroitly, comfortable in his environment even in the most unforgiving circumstances.
